All students at Cobram Secondary College are assigned to one of  four houses which were named to honour the memories of:
Flt Sgt H. R. Shadforth (Green house)
Pte K. L. Rose (Red house)
       Cpl G.J.P. Goodman (Blue house)
Gnr R. I. Jordan (Yellow house)

We honour their sacrifice and appreciate greatly the service they gave on our behalf. Our house teams compete with great teamwork and spirit in honour of these fallen men.

Lest we forget

Generally siblings are assigned to the same house.

Student House Captains and Vice Captains are selected to represent both the Middle and Senior School student populations and they are given extra leadership duties throughout the year. House Captains and Vice Captains motivate their houses at the sports carnivals.

2023 Grenfell cup

The Grenfell Cup acknowledges and remembers Jane Grenfell. Jane was a former teacher and colleague who lost her fight with cancer in 2022. She was always having fun at our sporting events and could be seen running about organizing activities. Jane was an optimistic and positive teacher who was taken from us too early. She has come to symbolize all our family members and friends who have lost the cancer battle.

In 2021 we held an impromptu Grenfell Cup to remember Jane and to cheer her up. We spent much of COVID cheering her from a distance whilst she fought the beast. She was unrelentingly positive despite ongoing pain and was inspirational to us all. She died in January 2022 after a long fight. We all had fun and sent her funny photos of our costumes and what we got up to. We knew that she missed us at school and wanted to tell her that she was always in our thoughts. A handmade cup was made out of paper mâché.

We have created an afternoon of fun in honour of Jane and the positive person she was. The first (formal) Grenfell cup in 2022 and invited Jane’s family. It was a day of tears, but mostly fun and laughter – she would have LOVED that. The Grenfell Cup has come to mean something much larger. It’s our time to remember all of our community – family and friends who’ve been affected by cancer. To acknowledge the fight and stand in solidarity and support.
